Illustration created as a tribute to a beloved place: Rocca Calascio.

The historic fortress, dating back to the 14th century, rises majestically atop a mountain at an altitude of 1,464 meters in Abruzzo. A few steps from the Rocca stands the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Pietà, a small but captivating religious building, completing the scene with the Gran Sasso as a backdrop.

Famous for its extraordinary scenic beauty, the site has also been chosen as a film set, including in the famous movie The Name of the Rose.
